How to Show Battery Percentage on any iPhone

The status bar of the iPhone has been more compact due to the latest top-notch display feature. The Top-notch display feature occupies more space on the status bar. And hence in the new iPhone models, battery percentage can’t be shown; only the graphical portion of the battery is shown. iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR, 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max, all of which have notch display feature, don’t show the battery percentage in the status bar. Though the iPhone has a wide range of specs, the iPhone user wants this feature too.

But how to get back this feature? Well, it is not possible to permanently show battery percentage on the home screen and lock screen. However, a single step process will make it more manageable for you. Follow these methods To show Battery Percentage on iPhone XR. New model iPhone users find it challenging to know about their battery percentage because of the compact size of the status bar due to notch display.

Using the control center

Control Center is the simplest way to determine your iPhone’s battery percentage. To do this, you must swipe down from the top right corner of your display; by doing this, you can view your battery percentage next to the battery icon.

Before the invention of the notch display, iPhone uses to carry lots of information on its status bars such as signal strength, service provider name, and battery percentage indicator, which is not possible now in the iPhone X series due to the display feature. Unlike iPhone 8 and older, it is not easy to display battery percentage on iPhone xr. It is easy to turn on the battery percentage indicator on iPhone 8 and earlier, by going to Settings > Battery Then, tap on the Battery Percentage slider to turn on. 

Use battery widget

Batteries widget helps to check the battery percentage. To do so, swipe right from the lock screen or on the first page of the home screen. If you don’t see the battery widget on the  widget section you can add it by tapping on the “Edit”, located at the bottom, then select  (+) button next to “Batteries” Once it is added successfully, you can view your battery percentage. To show the battery percentage indicator at the top, move the “Batteries Widget” icon to the top in the edit section.

If you don’t see battery widget on the lock screen go to Settings and select “Face ID  & Passcode” and turn ON the “Today View.” You can not only add battery widget, you can also add many widgets like news, stocks information, map destination, siri app suggestion, calendar, etc under More Widgets. As you do this, you can view these features in your connected device.

Ask siri

To make it simple try asking Siri by “Hey Siri”command and ask  “What’s my battery percentage” You will be notified.

Plugging Your iPhone into Charge

This is really a unconventional lengthy process, charge your iPhone by a lighting cable or by a wireless charging pad. When your iPhone is plugged in, it shows up battery percentage on the screen. Well this is not a convenient process for many iPhone users

Check using Battery Settings

This section tells you everything about your iPhone battery, You can find it in Settings > Battery. This gives you a detailed view of your battery life for 10 days or for 1 day, shows your current level, and last charged time. I personally recommend you to go with the control center.

The most common problem that all iPhone users come across is the iPhone battery issues. This is not true, iPhone batteries are designed for the best performance, The problem is many apps  need a lot of background time to function, causing battery to drain. With iOS 13 you can easily diagnose your battery health. If your Peak Performance Capability is showing “Your battery is currently supporting normal peak performance,” then your battery is in good condition. If not you must replace your battery.

Showing battery percentage on iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad, and iPod touch 

If you’ve got an iPhone SE(2nd generation), 8 or earlier, iPad, and iPod touch, whatever – other than non-X-series model, then showing the battery percentage is a little different. Unlike the iPhone X family, in iPhone SE (2nd generation), 8, 7 plus the percentage will always show on the status bar as it has more space in it. If you are unable to see the battery percentage in the status bar, go to Settings > BatteryBattery Percentage slider ON.
